GATE 2027 dates, M.Tech and PMRF eligibility
PMRF pays Rs 70,000 a month in years 1 and 2, rising to Rs 80,000 a month in years 4 and 5, plus a research grant of Rs 2 lakh a year. You need a direct entry route into a PhD at a PMRF granting institute. It is a fellowship for people who already want a research career, not a way to fund a taught master's.

Who is eligible for PMRF direct entry?
Meet any one of the three routes. Selection is to a PhD programme, so a PhD offer from a PMRF granting institute is part of the process.

Does an M.Tech or MS by research keep PMRF open?
It can. Route (c) covers people who are GATE-qualified and pursuing or have completed an M.Tech or MS by research at a PMRF granting institute. A master's degree that converts into a PhD at the same institute does not qualify for direct entry. Read route (c) in the table above before you choose a programme.
What are the GATE 2027 dates?
Regular registration has closed. Late registration with a fee runs to the date in the table above. After that date, registration is closed until the next GATE cycle. Check the official GATE site for the exam dates.
