Proof of funds for a student visa (2026)
Proof of funds is the bank balance you must show for the visa, country by country. The UK asks for GBP 1,529 a month in London or GBP 1,171 a month elsewhere. Canada asks for CAD 23,448 a year and Australia asks for AUD 29,710 a year. In the USA, your school sets the figure. This is money you must show, not money you will spend, so a low figure does not make a country cheap to live in.
